SPACE has bravely moved through the pandemic without closure, offering accessible public art outside and online as well as artist relief grants throughout the state. Resilience funding will help our multi-disciplinary organization continue to do an infrastructure audit of our venue, public health supplies, and staff salaries before fully reopening to the public for live events in the fall of 2021. Unlike many venues that fully closed, we are still waiting to hear back from the SVOG program because we are in the lowest priority group and our relief grantmaking changed how we looked on paper. NEAR funding would be critical to a safe reopening with public health as a keystone priority.
