MoMents of Nice is an evening-length live performance that contemplates memory, loss, and love through a collection of embodied vignettes. Choreographer Ali Kenner Brodsky collaborates with composer MorganEve Swain, visual artist Cyrus Highsmith, set designer Keri King, lighting and dramaturg Andy Russ, and dance artists Jenna Pollack, Jessi Stegall and Ilya Vidrin to bring this work to life. MoMents of Nice breaks the stigma around grief by giving audiences a moment to be present to their individual experiences of loss. This intimate, contemplative, and sometimes somber live dance work is made up of 7 solos, duets, and quartets that each range between 5-15 minutes in length. The episodic structure of the piece makes space to acknowledge the depth of grief without being consumed by it. Performances will be followed by a discussion with the collaborative creative team. SPACE's presentation of MoMents of Nice was disrupted by the pandemic and will be presented in November 2022.
