The Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy

This Verse Business, written by playwright A.M Dolan, is a lively and poignant evening with the poet Robert Frost, based on his public performances and culled from actual recordings and writings. Played by Emmy-winning actor Gordon Clapp (NYPD Blue's Detective Medavoy), Frost's great wit and poetry are heard afresh in the award-winning one-man play.
In conjunction with the 150th anniversary of Frost’s birth in 2024, the Stockbridge will curate a celebration of Frost’s life with the Derry, NH premiere of This Verse Business as the centerpiece of the celebration. Robert Frost’s literary works were centered on life in New England, and the project is unique in that Frost taught at Pinkerton Academy of which the Stockbridge Theatre is part and a member of the Derry community. The performances will take place in April of 2024 during a 3-day residency in which there will be a school and a public performance as well as outreach activities with the Pinkerton and public community.
