Strand Theatre

The Strand Theatre will present the world premiere of Naughty (working title), a new performance piece by Sara Juli, for two public performances as part of the New Century Series in October 2023. The engagement includes a talk-back with the audience focused on mental health and facilitated by a local mental health professional. In its 100th year, the Strand Theatre has launched the New Century Series (NCS) to determine the feasibility of functioning as a presenting organization. The NCS brings new works and new artists to new spaces in midcoast Maine. Juli is an American artist who creates performance work informed by daily life, combining elements of dance, comedy and storytelling. The Strand has commissioned Juli’s new work Naughty; which will premiere in multiple iterations, including the world premiere which is the focus of this grant proposal.
