NEFA is supporting Trent Lee (they/he) to build the administrative capacity to support the planning and execution of national touring plans for the activist dance opera, "The Historical Fantasy of Esek Hopkins," produced by the Haus of Glitter, for which Trent is a co-founder and co-director. Touring a performance project is something the Haus of Glitter never dreamed they’d have the opportunity to take on. This multidisciplinary dance performance illuminates underrepresented and under-preserved histories. At its core, this project believes in the power, not only of creating + viewing live dance, but also in the power of communities dancing together, tuning in to the rhythms that sustain us, shape us, give us strength, and remind us where we come from. Trent’s work with The Haus of Glitter aims to protect + amplify Queer + BIPOC- centered processes for creativity, care, healing and liberation through dance + multidisciplinary performance.
