The Ballet Hispánico Residency will advance the work of traditionally underrepresented artists, engage students of all ages in the arts, and provide cultural enlightenment to multiple Indiana communities. During a week-long visit to Indiana February 27- March 3, 2023, Ballet Hispánico will conduct educational outreach programs on three Indiana University campuses plus hold a public performance at IU Auditorium on the Bloomington, Indiana campus. Individuals of all ages and experience levels will interact with company members through residency activities such as masterclasses, lecture-demonstrations, and panel discussions. The residency culminates at IU Auditorium with Ballet Hispánico’s public performance of Doña Perón - The Rise and Fall of a Diva, by Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa. Through this multi-faceted residency, IU Auditorium aims to break down barriers to performing arts participation and welcome thousands of people to engage with Latinx arts and culture.
