UMS will present Young Jean Lee’s Theater Company (YJLTC) in a multi-day residency in January 2016, during which they will offer multiple performances of two different works, Untitled Feminist Show and Straight White Men, and numerous related engagement activities. (It is with the latter show only, Straight White Men (SWM), for which UMS requests NTP support.) SWM is a work focused on gender and identity, told through the story of a man and his three adult sons who have come together to celebrate Christmas and confront a problem: when identity matters and privilege is problematic, what is the value of being a straight white man?
