The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry will host Paradox Teatro on August 19-21 in our theater and workshop in Storrs, Connecticut.
Paradox Teatro will present two performances of "Migraciones/Migrations" on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, August 20-21 and present a two-hour sand drawing and shadow puppetry workshop on Saturday, August 20.
Migraciones/Migrations tells the story of refugees "migrating across sand, water, and shadows," using body puppets, sand drawings, and shadow puppetry. Ballard Institute director John Bell saw a workshop version of this production, and attests to the work’s high artistic standards and accomplishment.
The company of two performers and two technicians will arrive in Storrs on Friday, August 19 to load in, staying overnight at the Graduate Storrs Hotel. The Saturday workshop will take place from 1 to 3 p.m., with the evening performance of Migraciones/Migrations at 7 p.m. The company will perform their second show Sunday afternoon at 2
