The Clarice will present Music From The Sole's I Didn't to Stay, which brings together tap, percussive dance, samba, house and live music, and explores tap’s lineage and connections to other Afro-diasporic forms. In addition to a live performance in The Clarice's Kay Theater, during their residency, Music From the Sole will engage with our local community. This will include both dance and Jazz workshops with UMD students, a workshop for UMD's Arts Scholars program, a dance class with Dance Place, a leading area dance training and performance facility, and a program with UMD's Latin American and Caribbean Studies program in collaboration with EducArte, a local organization that provides educational programs in music and dance with a focus on community building and cross-cultural communication.
