The University of Vermont Lane Series

On October 30, 2015 the UVM Lane Series will welcome the Shanghai String Quartet with the great Pipa virtuoso Wu Man. A full day of residency/outreach activities will culminate in a concert on which they will perform an evening of Chinese and Western repertoire including a new multi-media work by eminent Chinese composer, Zhao Jiping, in collaboration with his son, Zhao Lin, composer of some of the most famous scores of Chinese cinema including "Raise the Red Lantern" and "Farewell My Concubine", among others. Confirmed residency activities include a workshop/masterclass at Burlington High School, a screening of a new documentary about Wu Man, and a panel with UVM's Asian Studies program.
