Vanessa Anspaugh

Researching the folk dances rooted in her Southern Italian heritage, Anspaugh will be traveling to one of the original sites of popular folk dance of The Tarantella as well as attending an Italian Folk Festival where she can see different versions of the dance. In order to have a lived experience of The Tarantella and dive deeper into the history of the dance in the place of its origin, Anspaugh hopes to incorporate this understanding into her upcoming work, The Tarantula .
