Veronica Robles Cultural Center

The Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) presents Lydia Perez to expand our current offerings of dance styles to include Bomba, a traditional music and dance style that developed during the Spanish colonization of Puerto Rico. Bomba includes different forms of rhythms hailing from the Caribbean using traditional instruments, while incorporating other forms like dance, mask making, costume showcasing, and the recitation of poetry. VROCC plans to showcase Bomba performances at several free community festivals and cultural events throughout the year. Older students will be trained by Lydia to teach Bomba to younger members.
