Healing Wars is a new work created by Liz Lerman. The piece grows from research into the role of healers in the American Civil War and recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lerman and her team examine questions that transcend these historical conflicts, such as: _x001C_Why is there such innovation in medicine during the crisis of war? How does the healer survive the setting?_x001D_ The creative team includes designers Darron West, David Reynoso, and Kate Freer; dancers from the Boston Ballet and Urban Bush Women; and screen actor Bill Pullman.
