Jawole Zollar and Urban Bush Women devise Hair and other Stories, a multidisciplinary, evening- length work that addresses matters of race, gender identity, and economic inequality through the lens of hair, primarily that of African American women. While bringing back two favorite characters from the 2001 narrative, this work is completely new, with a new director, comedic writer, and projections designer. This program will be part of the Moss Arts Center's 17-18 subscription season, and an important presentation in collaboration with the university's campus-wide efforts around inclusive and diversity.
