Halau o Keikiali'i is a traditional Halau Hula (Hula School) with over fifteen years of performance and educational presentations. The ties between New England and Hawai'i can be traced to old trade routes which carried ideas, cultural traditions, people, and goods. The performance piece, Hula through Time, will illustrate the regional connections and their influence on the evolution of Hawaiian ancient traditions. Founder and director, Kumu Kawika Alfiche, will work with the presenting partners to plan performances, workshops, University seminars, school and family programs. In addition, he will reach out to hula teachers and community leaders at each location to get them actively involved in the tour.
