WCCMA will present Ida Mae Specker along with her band (mandolin, upright bass, guitar, fiddle) as part of the first season of the new Claremont Creative Center in downtown Claremont NH. Ida Mae Specker is a fiddler, singer and songwriter from Andover, Vermont who makes old-time music for modern times. On stage, Ida Mae fuses original, contemporary, and traditional material, bringing heartfelt new life and relevance to the chain of American folk music. During this program Ida will offer a workshop for musicians and a talk for the general public on songwriting and the creative process. This will be part of a larger collaborative creative storytelling project through the summer and fall that features songwriters and composers from around the world, and partners WCCMA and the Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park (National Park Service) and Saint-Gaudens Memorial.
