Windhover Performing Arts Center has invited Alison Cook Beatty Dance to a residency August 2023. ACBD will present a pop-up show at The Quarry at Halibut Point State Park on the 22nd, an open masterclass on the 23rd, two mainstage performances on the 24th and 25th, and a masterclass at MAGMA on the 26th. These are part of the company’s larger New England tour, centered on nature–“Murmuration”, the signature work, is set to Ottorino Respighi’s “Gli uccelli (The Birds)”. This mirrors Windhover’s own entwining of art with nature, illustrating commonalities between the two organizations.

Alison Cook-Beatty carries the legacy of modern dance as a former member of Taylor 2 and The Paul Taylor Dance Company, while advancing the future of modern dance through her own works. ACBD offers professional dance shows, community engaged work, and educational dance opportunities–programming aligned with Windhover’s mission to engage the North Shore community in innovative ways.
