The Yard

Raphael Xavier returns to The Yard for a second consecutive residency, as well as to open the Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival in August 2017 with his new work, POINT OF INTEREST, developed in part during a creation residency at The Yard in 2015. The performance marks the fourth consecutive year The Yard has partnered with MVAAFF, a relationship begun in 2014 through the co-sponsorship of Camille A. Brown & Dancers (Expeditions funded). In facilitating this tour with partners World Music/CRASHarts (Boston) and the Center for the Arts at University of St. Joseph (West Hartford), The Yard deepens its multi-year commitment to this veteran, ever-innovative break dance artist.
