From April 6-10, 2021, NYC-based tap dance and live music ensemble, Music from the Sole, will return to The Yard as part of the 6th annual Winter Yard season. A cast of nine performers, including choreographer Leonardo Sandoval and composer Gregory Richardson, will perform “Partido” at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center on April 9th. “Partido" is a reflection on Sandoval’s experience as an Afro-Brazilian immigrant and artist living in the U.S., told through tap and percussive dance, samba, house, and original live music. Prior to the performance, The Yard will facilitate engagement activities, including a lecture-demonstration and performance for local high school students.
