(BOSTON, MA) The New England Foundation for the Arts is pleased to announce $25,000 in grants to the 28 inaugural grantees of the New England Dance Fund.
The New England Dance Fund was established in 2016 with the support of the Aliad Fund at the Boston Foundation in order to provide resources to New England’s choreographers to build their professional networks and skills, and take advantage of artistic opportunities. The Fund awarded grants to artists working in all six New England states over two application rounds in July and September 2016. The grants, ranging from $500 to $1,000, are made directly to choreographers and support a range of critical opportunities that will advance their careers. Projects include research, documentation, professional development opportunities, trainings, and more.
“NEFA is happy to offer this support to choreographers who work across the New England region, and to connect them to NEFA opportunities and networks such as CreativeGround and our New England States Touring initiative,” said NEFA executive director Cathy Edwards. “We are grateful to the Aliad Fund at the Boston Foundation for their vision and support.”
