NEFA has been working to improve the online application system for all applicants and grantees. Last year, a new application portal was implemented for the New England States Touring (NEST) application round. In 2020, NEFA is expanding usage of this portal, with all grant applications and grantee reports using the new system by the end of the year.

Our goal is to improve the experience of applicants to our grant programs. The new grants portal allows more flexibility in how application information is collected and has a more user-friendly interface. So, what does this mean for you as a new or returning applicant?

New Applicants

If you are a new applicant who has not used NEFA systems before, you can find an applicable grant and use the “Apply Now” button to reach the application portal, create an account, and apply.

Returning Applicants

If you are a returning applicant visiting the site to apply for another grant, you will notice that starting in January 2020, “Apply Now” buttons for NEFA grants will lead to the new grants application portal. Your prior login will not work, and you should click the “New User?” link to create an account. After this, you will be able to apply as usual. You will still be able to find historical applications to NEFA grants on our old grants portal for now. We recommend that you log into the old portal and print PDF or paper versions of your previous applications for your records.

Reporting on Grants

If you are a NEFA grantee who need to complete a grantee report: visit the grants portal on which you originally applied and complete the report there. You will be able to return to the portal by using the “Return to Your Grant Application” link on NEFA’s website.

We hope to provide a smooth transition to this new system . If any issues arise while filling out an application or report, please contact program staff for assistance during business hours.
