Whether you are looking for new public art venues or trying to get the word out about your project, here are three links with which artists and organizations should be familiar:

  • Americans for the Arts' Public Art Network
American’s for the Arts is a national organization that advocates for the arts.  As a response to members’ questions they created the Public Art Network.  This subgroup is designed to assist both artists and organizations that are interested in all aspects of temporary and permanent public art.
  • Boston Art Commission
The Boston Art Commission website provides information on how to create both permanent and temporary public art in the Boston area.  It provides links to public art funding sources and a list of current Calls for Public Art.
  • CaFE
One of the programs that the Public Art Network has supported is CaFE an online database that provides national calls for public art opportunities.  Signing up is free for the artist and provides a wide range of opportunities for artists interested in public art.  It also provides a Public Art Archive of public art in the United States and a Chat site where you can ask questions and share information with other members.
