Chandler Center for the Arts

Mocean Dance, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, will tour the New England states in 2019-20, with a particular focus on bringing high-quality contemporary dance and its illuminating perspectives to underserved rural audiences via anchor performing arts centers and academic institutions. Mocean’s performance of one of its signature works, Canvas 5 x 5, will be accompanied live by pan-Celtic traditional musicians Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas. Multi-day residencies will bring the company and musicians into a community to offer a range of activities, blending performance with customized workshops, classes, engaged participatory events, and more.
