The Dance Complex

The Dance Complex will engage Amirah Sackett to share with our local Hip Hop and wider dance community; to teach and create new repertory with local dancers on themes associated with the poet Rumi; and to perform. On a continuing journey to connect our region's dance community and audiences' "next steps" in dance, the Dance Complex is attracted to Amirah's work to bring into dialogue questions of gender, religion, bias, prejudice with our present circle of community and public new to us. Amirah's journey on a series of new Rumi dances brings her to next steps, as well. Performance, and the processes leading to it, are of mutual benefit to the artist, The Dance Complex and the community.
