The John Michael Kohler Arts Center seeks support to present a residency with Ephrat Asherie Dance and their presentation of Odeon, a work for 7 dancers and 4 musicians, a second collaboration between sister and brother team Ephrat (choreographer) and Ehud(pianist) Asherie. Set to the music of Brazilian composer Ernesto Nazareth, Odeon explores connections between various street and club dancers – including breaking, hip hop, house, and vogue. This residency will happen Oct 15-19, 2018 and will feature: 1 offsite informance/lec-dem, 3 onsite informances/lec-dems, 1 master class, 1 family performance, and 1 full-evening length performance.
