Biography

Kamaria Carrington joined NEFA in August 2018 as the Interim Program Associate for Creative City, and was promoted to Program Officer, Public art in November, 2021 and left NEFA in August, 2023. Prior to NEFA, Kamaria served in multiple roles in facilitation, community building, communications, outreach, research and project coordination for organizations including the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth, the Transformative Media Organizing Project, and several consulting roles working with LGBTQ empowerment organizations. Born in Boston, MA, Kamaria resides in Medford, MA, and holds a B.A. from Bard College and a M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University. Currently, they are creating public art interventions across Boston as a member of UnBound Bodies--a QTBIPoC performance art and community building collective. As well as the co-founder of Cultivate: Queer Healing Lab where they offer healing justice support to QTBIPoC communities within Boston and beyond.
