Arts Council of Tamworth

Members of jazz-fusion band The Afro-Semitic Experience will come to Tamworth for a weeklong residency to teach kids, local world music choirs, members of Mt Washington Valley's Jewish community, and the general public about jazz music through the lens of the Jewish, African, and African-American diasporas. David Chevan and Warren Byrd will share their theme of Unity in the Community and teach songs and rhythms, as well as the core concepts of “ase” and “shalom”—power, action, unity & peace. For their main public engagement in the community, Chevan and Byrd will be joined by additional band members to present a Choose-Your-Own Ticket Price concert at The Barnstormers Theatre.
