Concept Proposal Questions:

  1. Please describe the project you are proposing. What values guide your public art practice? What is your artistic vision for success? (3,600 characters) 

  2. Please explain your artistic process. How do you see this project authentically honoring the integrity of the people, places, stories, and ideas -past, present, and future - that are engaged in all phases of your artistic process? (2,000 characters) 

  3. Please describe where this project will take place. Why are you interested in creating this project in this particular public place? How do you envision the public interacting/engaging with this project? What are your intentions for public impact? (2,000 characters) 

  4. Please tell us about yourselves as the lead artist(s) for this project. How does this project relate to your artistic practice? How might this project strengthen your public art practice? (2,000 characters) 

  5. We acknowledge that the people reviewing your application are likely to have gaps in understanding or knowledge about the context for your work. Please share any other information you think would be important for the Advisors to have to fairly assess your application. NEW: In addition to your written response to this question, you may also choose to submit a short video (up to 3 minutes in total) responding this question on the Additional Materials Tab. (1,500 characters)

  2. Tell us about your confirmed community partner(s). Why is this partner(s) a good fit for your project and what role will they have in supporting you to realize this project? (2,000 characters) 
  3. Creative City Boston aims to cultivate a community of socially engage public art makers and supporters by hosting cohort gatherings for artist and community partner grantees during the grant year. Please explain why you are interested in being part of a learning cohort at this time. What expertise do you bring to the cohort and what do you hope to learn or gain from participating?  (2,000 characters) 

Budget + Budget Narrative will be required at this phase.
