Portland Ovations

In Spring 2020, Ovations will present the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) in Ashley Fure's ambitious and immersive "Force of Things: An Opera for Objects." Scaled down to a concert version, FORCE will share a program that also features the work of Maine native Suzanne Farrin. This project uses the arts as a venue for discussing and acting on climate change and will feature outreach activities that include: Meet the Composer pre-talk and workshop with both Fure and Farrin; ICE's popular side x side workshop with students from the USM School of Music; an interdisciplinary panel on Arts and Activism; and the creation of a Climate Change Resource Guide.
