In May 2020, we will present the the southeast premiere of Kimberly Bartosik’s 2018 dance piece I hunger for you, staged in a local black box theatre, as part of the BMCM+AC Performance Initiative, a multi-part interdisciplinary project offering new dimensions to the Museum’s exhibitions. Alongside this piece, Bartosik is invested in actively incorporating community engagement into the project to inspire conversation around its key themes. Public programs aimed at engaging the community will be carried out alongside performances of I hunger for you, a exhibition on John Cage and Buddhism, and programming in collaboration with UNC-Asheville focused on art and interfaith engagement.
