The CCA will present Sara Juli's Burnt-Out Wife in its new, intimate, performance space in January 2020. This piece focuses on the detritus and decay of marriage, blowing up marriage for reflection, humor, and a total re-imagining. Burnt-Out Wife will explore monogamy as a social construct, fantasy vs reality, intimacy, loneliness, and other marital taboos by sharing personal stories and inner thoughts of separation, sex deprivation, difficult conversations, and the ultimate question of “stay or go? Culling research from marriage counselors, therapists and divorce lawyers, along with personal journaling, stories, emotions, and experiences, Juli's bold piece promises to be riveting.
