DRONE is a multimedia ensemble, devised theater project integrating live music from U.S. and Middle Eastern traditions, drone technology, and artistic containers for public dialogue. It explores the drone as a metaphor for how we become desensitized to daily violence, both domestic and global, the question of Moral Injury, and the effects of remote-control warfare on the human soul. Performance modules can be staged in large theaters, galleries, non-traditional venues, or site-specifically. The finished work will live in three dimensions: as a touring production, an interactive online platform, and a facilitation process for community engagement and art-based civic dialogue.
