FUTUREFOOD 2100 is a socially engaged art work featuring design charrettes, demonstrations, and sensory engagements. FUTUREFOOD will work with members of the East Boston community to create a series of site specific art installations that address local challenges of climate change and its relation to the food system. The project is being designed in collaboration with local artists, food producers, and community organizers, whose own practice deals with a dimension of these challenges, including sea level rise, species and habitat loss, food waste and overproduction, and the erosion of edible identities (the cultural heritage of food cultivation, preparation, and consumption of a community).
