The Chinatown Story Cart invites the public to gather around a traveling library for learning and conversation about the character, resilience, and dreams of the Chinatown community. As lead artists, Crystal and Lily will build this collection of handmade books by conducting oral histories and teaching local youth how to gather and publish personal narratives. Visitors to the cart can walk away with copies of the zines, as well as a “story kit” with resources for conducting their own oral histories.
