The International Festival of Arts & Ideas has partners with composer Byron Au Yong and lyricist Aaron Jafferis for “Activist Songbook,” an exploration on how civil rights organizing and music intersect to inspire action and sustain the fight towards equity. Community workshops began in October 2019 and will continue until June 2020 with cumulative performances co-created with the community performed throughout the City of New Haven as part of the 25th anniversary festival.
