Saint-Gaudens Summer Concert Series

Burlington Taiko Group will offer a workshop and perform a Japanese Taiko Drumming extravaganza at the Family Picnic at Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park. The performance will feature the 2 main types of Japanese drums, the ojime and odaiko, and 5 members of the Burlington Taiko Group. They will also bring the giant and rarely seen Ringo drum, a custom made instrument by Stuart Paton that is 56" diameter and 50" long, and includes LED lights inside. Music includes traditional Japanese taiko works, as well as compositions by Sensei Paton. Following the performance all ages will be able to try out the drums in a drumming workshop, and to meet the performers.
