Nobuntu has drawn international acclaim for inventive performances ranging from traditional Zimbabwean songs to Afro Jazz and Gospel. Their a cappella concerts feature traditional Mbube songs that are affirming, authentic, and celebratory. "Nobuntu" is an African concept that values humbleness, love, purpose, unity, and family from a woman’s perspective, and Nobuntu's mission is the belief that music is an important vehicle for change, one that transcends racial, tribal, religious, gender, and economic boundaries. In Middlebury, Nobuntu will meet with music and dance classes/ensembles, student groups, lunch at the gender/sexuality/feminist studies center, and offer a K-6 matinee.
