“Let ‘im Move You: Intervention” by choreographers jumatatu m. poe (Philadelphia/New York) and Jerome “Donte” Beacham (Dallas) brings together 10 Black dancers (3 visiting, 7 local) with various histories of connection to institutional space performance and social space performance. Through the performance, the dancers question feminine and masculine embodiments and examine the idea of “team” in performance, using the aesthetically queer J-Sette dance vocabulary and performance codes. A residency, workshop and performances are tentatively scheduled for April 2021, pending Covid restrictions on travel and gathering.
