Teatro ECAS, a 23-year Spanish language theater, is actively modifying its theater programs and educational programs to meet the evolving needs of the Hispanic/Latinx community. Successful theater shows are being re-made for Radio Drama and there is a weekly interview “ECAS en Casa” on facebook attended by over 1,500 people world-wide. ECAS will re-open January 2021 and offer its literacy and arts programming in the RI public schools, virtually and then in person, working under COVID 19 guidelines as recently established by the RI Department of Education. ECAS is creating a new play, “Disproportionate Impact” about the Hispanic/Latinx out of proportion COVID transmission in our community.
