Art At Work

Since 2017, Art At Work’s primary focus has been creating MAINEUSA, a civic arts engagement project with partners from environmental, immigrant, refugee, Indigenous, social service, municipal, and arts organizations. The project includes a multi-year community theatre performance that firmly anchors Maine’s history 13,000 years ago with the Wabanaki people, who are still here today and a part of MAINEUSA’s team. NEFA funding would make it possible to pay the staff salaries and artist fees needed to develop the artistic and financial infrastructures necessary for a full-scale production of MAINEUSA in 2021, as well as continue producing quality, COVID-safe virtual / video programming in 2020.
