What does an equitable, accountable, ensemble-driven process look like, especially when interfacing with and working within traditionally hierarchical institutions and funding models? Andrew Schneider and the NERVOUS/SYSTEM ensemble will use NEFA’s Transition Grant to understand, document, and share the project’s rigorous exploration of a non-hierarchical creative process, including our aspirations and failures, our realizations and accidental alignments, our struggles, and the emotional toll of the work. This transition grant will allow our team to learn, regroup, build, and sustain for future ensemble-guided projects. We are ultimately interested in an industry wide case-study in making.
