FirstWorks applied for NEST funding to continue the role of Artistic Ambassador which was initiated last year thanks to NEFA’s support with Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), innovative composer, thrilling violinist, passionate educator, charismatic community organizer and fierce arts advocate. Based on the success of the collaborations DBR formed with local musicians, filmmakers, and activists last season, the organization will further engage audiences, artists, and students by embedding Daniel in two outdoor performances (in Providence and southern RI), and educational engagement with teachers and students.
