Canterbury Shaker Village

Canterbury Shaker Village’s June 20, 2021 Concerts on the Green series performance will feature LCTC (Lorraine Chapman the Company), a Boston-based dance company that connects audiences to the global evolution of contemporary dance. Lorraine Chapman was the Resident Dancemaker for the Village’s Shaker Dance Revival Project, for which she curated a performance series and a new piece inspired by the Shaker’s ecstatic dances. In 2021, LCTC will return to the Village to reimagine the provocative Shaker tradition of “Entertainments”: musical tableaus that included skits, tableaus, plays, cantatas, concerts, and parades.
