Royall House and Slave Quarters

A NEFA grant will allow us to strengthen our organization through partnering with artists, throughout New England and the greater Northeast, who are deeply invested in creating work about the history of slavery and the contested condition of freedom and justice today for Black Americans. We believe in the power of the arts to provide the necessary space to explore the lives and resistance of enslaved people while encouraging people to imagine a new world. This grant will help support the salaries of our staff, provide us with the technology to make our museum more accessible, and give us the ability to attract and fairly support artists of color deeply engaged in this work.
