Culture Mill

Eclipse is an original performance in which up to 50 people of all ages, identities and abilities negotiate relationships and power dynamics in real time to silently build a large, emergent structure in a public space, completing it for a moment of stillness before the group entirely disassembles the structure. The work is uniquely developed through a series of community workshops, and enacted through a score which generates a different form in each iteration of the performance. It will premiere in April of 2022 in Chapel Hill, NC with Carolina Performing Arts, and will subsequently be recreated in collaboration with diverse populations in various cities both nationally and internationally.
