Celebrity Series of Boston

Celebrity Series welcomes Castle of our Skins (COOS) for a Neighborhood Arts engagement in our 2021-22 season. Born out of the desire to foster cultural curiosity, COOS is a concert and educational series dedicated to celebrating Black artistry through music. From classrooms to concert halls, COOS invites exploration into Black heritage and culture, spotlighting both unsung and celebrated figures of past and present. Planned activities include the digital premiere of sections of a newly commissioned work by Daniel Bernard Roumain, a residency with Boston Renaissance Public Charter School, and a live, in-person concert featuring Roumain’s complete new work and works by other Black composers.
