In 2022 Avery Sharpe will participate in both Litchfield Jazz Camp and Festival. This is fitting in that he has been part of our program for 15 years! He served as a master teacher, a performer, a mentor, a moderator, a cheerleader for young careers--he has inspired students and younger teaching staff alike.

During his 2022 residency, Avery will teach for two weeks live at the Camp. He will also perform on our free evening concert series during both weeks. He will teach combo performance, bass master classes, individual lessons, theory, composition, performance and more. He will also participate in panel discussions and performances for our jazz campers and the public, offered free of charge. He will help campers create new compositions to be aired at student concerts.

Avery will appear at Litchfield Jazz Festival, under the baton of drummer, pianist and composer, and former Camper Anton Kot. The first bandmate Anton proposed was his mentor Avery who accepted with delight!
