FirstWorks will bring four-time Grammy nominee and composer William Cepeda to Providence, RI as part of a New England Tour in partnership with Blues to Green’s Jazz & Roots Festival. Cepeda’s electrifying performance will be part of our established Parks Concert Series at the “crown jewel” of the Providence Park system, Roger Williams Park. The concert will bring multigenerational families together and provide a shared space for community gathering in a non-traditional setting.

As a cultural icon of Puerto Rico, William’s music will deeply resonate with Providence’s large Puerto Rican, LatinX and African communities. His revolutionary Afro-Rican Jazz will connect audiences to authentic traditional sound intertwined with jazz that “will take you a step ahead into another world of music.” This project is a means of connecting local artists to William--providing a larger platform for local LatinX artists, and unifying communities through cultural tradition and the arts.
