The Fabiola Méndez Trio will spend a weekend in residency at Mayo Street Arts (MSA) in Portland, Maine. The trio will perform at both MSA and the local East End Elementary School (EECS). In-school workshops will be developed in collaboration with MSA staff and EECS faculty to support existing curriculum and units of study. Fabiola will draw on her education background to use the lens of Puerto Rican folk music to explore subjects such as music, art, language, math, and theater arts. At Mayo Street Arts, the trio will offer a call and response workshop that integrates melody, song, and movement.
