Tofte Lake Center

Tofte Lake Center (TLC) will host April Sellers Dance Collective (ASDC) in residence from June 8 – 19th 2022. During the redevelopment residency ASDC will reassess Rumble Strips, one year after its premiere including re-working excerpts for future indoor touring locations. This project will culminate in two performances with Q&A to follow and extensive online engagement activities to reach audiences in person and virtually. While the work will be accessible to all audiences, primary focus will be placed on reaching rural queer communities. Unfortunately, the community radio station that was a key element of our outreach plan announced its closure on June 1, but we are confident we will still reach local LGBTQIA audiences. Community connections are going well, including a new relationship with Ely’s LGBTQIA group that will host a pop-up connection event for ASDC on June 14th at the Northwoods Coffee shop and the Ely Empower Group will be promoting and attending the performance.
